On 14 February 2018, H.E. Dr. Sun Xianghua, Ambassador of China to Lesotho, attended the handover ceremony of the New State House Project. The Right Honourable Prime Minister, Dr. Motsoahae Thomas Thabane, the First Lady Maisae Thabane, the Honorable President of the Senate, the Honorable Deputy Prime Minister, Honorable Ministers of H.M.’s Cabinet, Commander of Lesotho Defense Forces, Principal Secretaries, Directors of different departments, journalist, foreign diplomats in Lesotho about 150 people attended the ceremony, representatives from ACEG also attended the event as the contractor upon invitation.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Sun and Hon. Halebonoe Sets’abi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, signed the handover certificate of the New State House, and Ambassador Sun also handed over a Symbolic Golden Key to the Lesotho Government.
In his remarks, Ambassador Sun indicated that the New State House Project is an embodiment of China-Lesotho cooperation in every sense, and China-Lesotho friendship has become a fine example of the relations between countries.
The Rt. Hon. Dr. Thabane indicated in his remarks that the New State House is a very precious gift from the Government and People of the People’s Republic of China to the Government and Kingdom of Lesotho and extended gratitude to China for the generous assistance.
